IL Farmers Market Guide 2026: Where To Go, What To Know

While many local farmers markets don't start their season until May and June, some are set to sell farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, and much more in the next few weeks, with some already open for business.

As we do annually, Patch has put together a list of some of the popular farmers markets in our coverage area, which is Chicagoland and the suburbs. With dozens and dozens of farmers markets throughout the area, we admit that we may not have your favorite one listed. Just let us know by emailing eric.degrechie@patch.com and we'll add it. COOK COUNTY

• Arlington Heights Farmers Market, 110 W Fremont St., Arlington Heights. The market opens May 9 and will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through Oct. 17.
• Brookfield Farmers Market, 8820 Brookfield Ave., Brookfield. Open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, starting June 6 through Oct. 31.
• Buffalo Grove Farmers Market, Mike Rylko Community Park, 951 McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove. The market returns June 14 and runs 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through Oct. 11.
• Deerfield Farmers Market, Park Avenue between Jewett Park Drive and Hazel Avenue, Deerfield. The market returns June 13 and runs from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday through Oct. 11.
• Downtown Evanston Farmers Market, 1800 Maple Ave., Evanston. The market is open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, starting May 2 through Nov. 21.
• Evergreen Park Farmers Market, Yukich Fields, 89th Street and Kedzie Avenue. 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays starting in May through October.
• Glenview Farmers Market, Historic Wagner Farm, 1510 Wagner Road, Glenview. The market runs from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday from June through October.
• Green City Market Lincoln Park, 1817 N. Clark St., Chicago. The market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays (April 4 through November) and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays (May to October).
• Hills Farmers Market, 8652 W. 95th St., Hickory Hills. The market runs 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays starting June 5 through Aug. 28.
• Homewood Farmers Market, Martin Avenue between Ridge Road and Chestnut Road, Homewood. Markets are held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, beginning May 30 to Oct. 10.
• Hyde Park Farmers Market, Hyde Park Bank parking lot, 5400 S. Lake Park Avenue West, Chicago. Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays starting on June 7 throught Sept. 27.

• La Grange Farmers Market, Harris Avenue, near Village Hall, every Thursday from May 21 to October 29.
• Lincoln Square Farmers Market, returning to 2301 W. Leland Ave., Chicago, for the 2026 season. Tuesday morning market is held from 7 a.m. to noon May through November, The Thursday evening market is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. May through October.
• Mount Prospect Farmers Market, sponsored by Mount Prospect Lions Club, West Metra commuter lot (Northwest Highway and Main Street/Route 83). 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays starting June 7 through Oct. 25.
• Nettlehorst French Market, 3252 N Broadway, Chicago. Open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, April 18 through Oct. 31.
• Northbrook Farmers Market, Meadow Plaza parking lot, Cherry and Meadow, Northbrook. The market returns June 17 and runs from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday through Oct. 14.
• Oak Forest Park District Farmers Market, 4850 W. 159th St., Oak Forest. 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May to October.
• Oak Park Farmers Market, Pilgrim Church parking lot at 460 Lake St., one block west of Ridgeland Avenue. 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday starting May 23 through Nov. 14.
• Orland Park's Market at the Park, Centennial Park West, Park Station Boulevard. Runs 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Thursday in June through August.
• Palatine Farmers Market, Palatine Train Station, Smith and Wood Streets, Palatine. The market opens in May and is every Saturday through October.
• Palos Heights Farmers Market, Municipal Parking Lot, 12217 S. Harlem Ave., 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday, May 13 through Oct. 14.
• Park Forest Community Market, 26th & Western Ave., Park Forest. Open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays May 30 through Oct. 3.
• Park Ridge Farmers Market, 15 Prairie Ave., Park Ridge. Open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays starting Memorial Day weekend through the end of October.
• Schaumburg Farmers Market, Trickster Cultural Center Parking Lot, 190 S Roselle Road, Schaumburg. The market returns June 5 and runs from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday through Oct. 30.
• Skokie Farmers Market, 5127 Oakton St., Skokie. The market, opening May 31, runs from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Sunday.
• Tinley Park Farmer's Market, Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park. Runs Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 6-Oct. 24.
• French Market in Western Springs, 914 Hillgrove Ave., Western Springs, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Wednesday starting May 6 through Aug. 26.
• Tuesday Night Market, Wheeling Town Center, 375 W. Dundee Road, Wheeling. Runs from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting in May.
• Wicker Park Farmers Market, 1425 N. Damen Ave., Chicago. In its 26th summer, the market launches in May and runs through October. It runs every Sunday, rain or shine, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Wilmette French Market, 722 Green Bay Road, Wilmette. Open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday starting April 181 through Oct. 31.
• Winnetka Farmers Market, Winnetka train station parking lot, at 754 Elm St. Open 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday starting June 6 through Oct. 31.
• 95th Street Farmers Market, 1835 W. 95th Street, Chicago, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday from May through October.

DUPAGE COUNTY

• Downtown Downers Grove Market, parking lot outside Main Street train station. 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays from mid-May through late October.
• Elmhurst Farmers Market, parking lot of Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 149 W. Brush Hill Road, Elmhurst, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday from June 3 through October.
• Hinsdale Farmers Market, Burlington Park, 30 E. Chicago Ave., 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Monday June 17 through Oct. 12.
• Lisle French Market, PrairieWalk Pond, Lincoln Avenue, just south of Ogden Avenue; Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting May 2 through Oct. 24.

KANE COUNTY

• Aurora Farmers Market - Downtown, 65 Water St., Aurora. Open 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday starting June 6 through Oct. 3.
• Batavia Farmers Market, 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays — May 16 through Oct. 17, N. River Street (between Wilson and Spring Streets, Batavia); and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, June 10, 17, 24, July 1, 15, 22, 29, Aug. 5, South Riverwalk Plaza (N. Island Avenue and Houston Street)
• Downtown Elgin Farmers Market, Spring Street between Chicago and Fulton streets, Elgin. The market returns on June 5 and runs every Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Sept. 25.
• Geneva French Market, Metra, 359 Crescent Place, Geneva. Open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays, starting April 12 through Oct. 25. It then reopens from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 1 through Nov. 16.

LAKE COUNTY

• Buffalo Grove Farmers Market, Mike Rylko Community Park, 951 McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove. The market returns June 14 and runs 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through Oct. 11.

The summer market hours are 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, running June 3 through Sept. 23. The fall market is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 26 through Dec. 12.
• Highwood Evening Gourmet Market, Everts Park, 111 North Ave., Highwood. The evening market runs from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays starting June 3 through Aug. 26.
• Lake Bluff Farmers Market, Village Green, Lake Bluff. Open 7 a.m. to noon every Friday starting June 5 through Oct. 9.
• Lake Zurich Farmers Market, Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich. The market returns on June 5 and runs every Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. through Sept. 11.
• Libertyville Farmers Market, Cook Park and West Church Street, Libertyville. The market runs from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Thursday from June through October.
• Mundelein Farmers Market, 10 W Park St., Mundelein. Open 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays starting June 6 through Sept. 19.
• Ravinia Farmers Market, Jens Jensen Park, 486 Roger Williams Ave., Highland Park. The market returns in June and runs from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Wednesday through October.
• Tuesday Night Market, Wheeling Town Center, 375 W. Dundee Road, Wheeling. Runs from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting in May.

MCHENRY COUNTY

• Crystal Lake Farmers Market, Depot Park, downtown Crystal Lake next to the Metra station. The market returns on Saturday, June 13, and runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Sept. 26.
• Cary Farmers Market, Downtown Social District on Main Street, Cary. The market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday starting in June through September.
• Dole Mansion Open Air Farmers Market, 401 Country Club Road, Crystal Lake. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday from May through October.
• Huntley Farmers Market, Town Square, Coral and Church streets, Huntley. Open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. second Saturday of each month starting May 30 through Oct. 10.
• Woodstock Farmers Market, Woodstock Square, 121 W. Van Buren St., Woodstock. The popular farmers market has two dates: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays (May through October) and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays (May through September).

WILL/KENDALL COUNTY

• Frankfort County Market, downtown Frankfort at Breidert Green and 1 N. White parking lots. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Sunday through Oct. 25. The market opens on April 26 this year.
• Plainfield Farmers Market, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays, starting June 7 through Sept. 13, Plainfield Public Library parking lot, 15025 South Illinois St.
• Oswego Country Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays, starting June 7 to Sept. 13, in downtown Oswego, 15 Main St.
