IL Man Charged With 55 Child Pornography Counts: Police
The charges were brought in connection with an investigation that began over a year ago, police said.

NORMAL, IL — A man from central Illinois is charged with 55 child pornography counts in connection with an investigation that began over a year ago, according to police.
Authorities announced the charges Tuesday against 59-year-old Stephen M. Schultz, of Normal.
In April 2021, the investigation that led to Schultz’s arrest was opened, according to police, who collaborated on the case with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

An arrest warrant was issued Aug. 17 for Schultz, who is charged with 39 counts of possessing child pornography and 16 counts of reproducing child pornography, police said. Schultz was arrested and booked into the McLean County jail, according to police. His bond was set at $1 million, according to court records.
