Illinois State Police Taking Applications For 2020 Cadet Class

SPRINGFIELD, IL — Illinois State Police are accepting applications for its newest trooper class. Hopefuls looking to join Cadet Class 132 have until Jan. 31 to apply. Online applications can be found on the ISP website.

Those whose applications are deemed acceptable by the Merit Board will be invited to take the recruitment test. The application fee is $30.

Trooper candidates must be 21 and have an associate’s degree or completed 60 hours of college coursework, among other requirements. Training will begin this summer.

The starting salary for a first-year trooper is $60,936. ISP is also looking to fill other positions, including investigations, motorcycle detail, K-9 and more. Visit ISP for more information on applying.
