Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Film Will Not Show At North Shore Library

Library officials announced Wednesday that "Israelism," a documentary film about the conflict, is no longer on the schedule. Following planned protests and an uproar from some members of the community, a documentary film about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will not be shown at the library.

Parish Wins Appeal In Rome, Will Remain Standalone Parish

In a historic event, the 133-year-old St. Joseph's parish has overturned the decision by Diocese of Joliet Bishop Ron Hicks to merge them. Leaders of St. Joseph Parish began notifying fellow parishioners on Wednesday morning. The parish filed ts appeal to Washington, D.C., and that appeal will be delivered to Vatican City in Rome.

Art Institute Of Chicago Receives $75 Million Donation For New Addition

The gift from Fleischman and Lougheed is the largest single naming gift in Art Institute history. The Aaron I. Fleischman and Lin Lougheed Building will showcase modern art from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as contemporary art.

Man, 60, Accused Of Soliciting Sex Act From 7-Year-Old Relative

Benedicto Aviles, 60, has been charged with indecent solicitation of a child and attempted predatory sexual assault of a child. Aviles is accused of offering to take the 7-year-old girl swimming and then, instead of taking her to the pool, he showed her child pornography videos as he pulled down his pants, according to police.
