Man Could Face A Decade In Prison For Illegal Deer Harvesting: Report
An Illinois man faces five felony counts for illegally harvesting deer, according to WLDS.
CASS COUNTY, IL — A central Illinois man accused of illegal deer harvesting could face up to a decade in prison, according to WLDS.
John E. Harris, 60, of Ashland, is charged with five Class 3 felony counts of unlawful commercial use of game worth over $300, according to court records, which state the offenses occurred in December of 2020, and January and November of 2021.
Harris harvested deer illegally, WLDS reported. His next hearing is set for Nov. 21, according to court records, which state his case was opened last week.

Harris could be sentenced to up to five years in prison, or, if his case is determined to warrant an extended term, as many as 10 years, according to state law, which indicated he may also be required to pay a fine of up to $25,000 for each offense.
