Meet Your Doctor: Dr. Nirmla Verma, Pediatrician at CCHHS

Dr. Nirmla Verma, who has been treating kids in Chicago and elsewhere for 13 years, is now seeing patients at Cook County Health & Hospitals System’s Austin and Logan Square health centers.

“What drew me to pediatrics as a medical student was the uniqueness of the approach to patients, which ranges from being silly and goofy to outlining a life-saving treatment plan,” said Dr. Verma, who is a mom to 3 boys and also a runner. “Being in pediatrics means you’re able to practice preventive medicine, ensuring that children's medical and developmental problems are diagnosed and treated properly for a better outcome, short and long-term.”

Before coming to Cook County Health & Hospitals System, Dr. Verma previously worked at Access Community Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital.

She specializes in general pediatrics, newborn care and immunizations.

Dr. Verma has clinic hours at Austin Health Center, 4800 W. Chicago Ave., on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and the 2^nd and 4^th Friday of each month. She also sees patients at Logan Square, 2840 W. Fullerton Ave., on Tuesdays and the 1^st and 3^rd Friday of every month.
