Rainy Week But Warmer Weather Ahead For Illinois

ILLINOIS — After several days of bitterly cold weather last week, temperatures will be quite mild this week, with highs near 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

While the temps will be warmer, there is a chance of rain throughout the week.

Monday will have a high of 48 degrees, and will be dry and breezy during the day, according to the weather service. Gusts up to 40 mph are possible Monday night, and there is also a chance of rain showers.

Tuesday will also be breezy and have a high of 47 degrees, according to the weather service. Tuesday will be dry and partly cloudy, before rain moves in for the rest of the week.

Wednesday will have a high of 45, and a chance of rain in the afternoon and rain on Wednesday night, according to the weather service. Rain will continue on Thursday, which has a high of 46 degrees.

AccuWeather said Thursday will be "breezy with periods of rain," and "some wet snowflakes" were possible. The private forecaster gave a prediction of .24 inches of rain, and 3 and a half hours total of rain for Thursday.

There is a chance of rain and snow on Thursday night, and a chance of snow on Friday, according to the weather service.

Friday will be the coldest day of the week, with a high of 37.
