Missing NIU Student Found Dead: Police

DEKALB, IL — A Northern Illinois University student was found dead early Tuesday after he had been reported missing over the weekend, according to police.

Latif Adeboyejo was discovered about 6:30 a.m. dead in his car in a parking lot near Russell and Greenbrier roads in DeKalb, having suffered a single gunshot wound, police said, adding a firearm was recovered from the vehicle. Adeboyejo had last been seen Sunday when he left campus and did not return, according to the university.

A death investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police at 815-748-8400.
