Mostly Dry Weekend Before Widespread Rain Returns Next Week To Chicago Area

A chance of rain is possible Friday morning, but mostly dry conditions are in the forecast after that, according to the National Weather Service.

Seasonable temperatures are also forecasted through early next week, the weather service said.

While the weekend looks mostly dry, chances for a "more wide-spread, wetting rain return mid-week," according to the weather service.

Friday will have a high of 69, Saturday a high of 73 and Sunday a high of 73.

Monday also looks to continue the dry weather streak, before a chance of rain settles in on Tuesday. There is a chance of rain Tuesday morning for areas west of Interstate 55, and a chance of rain on Tuesday night, too, according to the current forecast.

FRIDAY: Occasional sprinkles with a slight chance of showers before 10 a.m., then occasional sprinkles between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 68. East northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. East northeast wind around 5 mph.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. East wind around 5 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 52.
