Mostly Sunny Weekend, Below Normal Temps Coming Next Week For Chicago Area

After a very active severe weather week, this weekend looks a little quieter, although there is a chance that some storms turn severe Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday will be breezy and sunny, with a high of 82 degrees.

Saturday has a high of 86 degrees, and there is a chance of storms late Saturday afternoon into the night.

"Some of the thunderstorms may become severe Saturday evening, especially for areas south of Interstate 80," the weather service said.

Sunday will be cooler than Saturday, with a high of 75 degrees. Below normal temperatures will continue into early next week, with a high of 79 degrees on Monday and Tuesday, according to the current forecast.

FRIDAY: Sunny, with a high near 80. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Clear, with a low around 61. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

SATURDAY: Increasing clouds, with a high near 83. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Showers and thunderstorms before 4 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 4 and 5 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 a.m. Low around 61. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

SUNDAY: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
