Parents Charged With Murder In 3-Year-Old's Death
The charges were upgraded this week after the girl was brought to a local hospital and pronounced dead over the summer, court records said.

CARBONDALE, IL — The parents of an Illinois 3-year-old girl who died in June are now charged with murder, according to authorities.
Charges were amended Monday for Isaac Hill, 46, and Katrina S. Simelton, 42, both of Carbondale, according to court records. The two were arrested over the summer, shortly after the child was brought to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Illinois State Police said June 24.
Both Hill and Simelton are now charged with multiple murder counts, according to court records. They were previously charged with numerous counts of causing child endangerment or death and domestic battery, court records said.

Their charges were upgraded in light of new information provided by medical professionals, WSIL reported. A jury trial is set for Nov. 14, according to court records.
