Pleasant Temperatures, Sunshine Expected This Week For Chicago Area

Comfortable humidity levels and light winds are also expected with temps in the 80s this week, the weather service said.

ILLINOIS — After several days of dangerous heat and severe weather, the Chicago area is in for a week of "quintessential summer weather" this week, according to the National Weather Service Chicago.

Temps will be in the 80s all week, and there is no widespread rainfall expected through at least the middle of the week, the weather service said.

Monday will have a high of 83, Tuesday a high of 85, Wednesday a high of 85, Thursday a high of 88 and Friday a high of 86. Temperatures will be cooler along Lake Michigan, the weather service said.

Most of the week will be sunny and dry, but there is a slight chance of showers on Wednesday and Wednesday night. The weather service said chances for showers and storms favor areas to the south and west over the next few days.

Temperatures in the 80s also look to continue through the weekend.
