Rain, Storm Chances Begin Mid-Week For Chicago Area
Dense fog will start the week on Monday, before dry conditions on Monday and Tuesday turn to rain by Wednesday.
Dense fog will start of the work week in some places across the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.
A dense fog advisory is in effect for areas east of Interstate 55 and south of Interstate 80, as well as some towns northwest of Chicago. Visibility is down to a quarter-mile or less, the weather service said.
The early morning fog could happen Tuesday as well.

Monday and Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with highs of 78 and 80 degrees, respectively. The warmest day of the week looks to be Wednesday, which will have a high of 83 degrees, according to the current forecast.
Periods of rain will be possible starting Wednesday, and continuing all the way through Friday. There is also a limited thunderstorm risk on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the weather service.

Temperatures will remain fairly warm on Thursday, which has a high of 79, before cooling on Friday, which has a high of 69 degrees, according to the current forecast.

MONDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. North wind around 5 mph becoming east northeast in the afternoon.
MONDAY NIGHT: Patchy fog after 1 a.m. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 53. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
TUESDAY: Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 10 mph.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. South wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A 40 percent chance of showers after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67.
THURSDAY: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1 p.m. High near 74. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
THURSDAY NIGHT: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 57.
FRIDAY: Partly sunny, with a high near 65.
