ILLINOIS — Several periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday will have a high of 84 degrees, and the weather service said rain is possible throughout the day, but breaks in the rain are expected.

There is a limited severe thunderstorm risk and a limited flooding risk on Friday, according to the weather service forecast. Scattered thunderstorms are possible throughout the day, but especially during the afternoon, the weather service said.
The strongest storms may become severe, with damaging winds as the main severe weather threat, the weather service said.

Accuweather also calls for a "t-storm or two" on Friday, and thunderstorms will move into the morning Friday morning through late Friday night.
Storms will also continue on Saturday and into Sunday.
