ILLINOIS — After a few dry days, rain will once again return to the Chicago area. According to the National Weather Service, scattered storms are possible Wednesday afternoon, and morning rain showers are expected on Thursday.

The weather service said storms on Wednesday will mainly be along and southeast of Interstate 55. Severe weather isn't expected, but there is a low threat for strong, gusty winds.

AccuWeather also calls for a "stray afternoon t-shower" for Chicago, as well as showers early Thursday.

According to the weather service, Thursday will have a chance of showers, mainly before 7 a.m., and a high of 82 degrees. The rest of the day will be partly sunny, and the week will close out with dry, sunny weather on Friday as well.

The weather service said dry and pleasant weather will also extend into the weekend. A high of 85 degrees is expected on Saturday.
