IL Weather: Second Round Of Storms Possible Monday
The second round of storms would occur mainly south of Interstate 80.
ILLINOIS — After a stormy early afternoon on Monday, an additional round of storms is possible in the early evening, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service said it is somewhat uncertain still, but confidence is increasing that storms will develop after 5 or 6 p.m., mainly south of Interstate 80.
The main threats with these storms would be locally damaging wind gusts, damaging hail and localized flash flooding.

The weather service said the storm development is possible ahead of a cold front late afternoon/early evening Wednesday. If storms do develop, they could become severe.
Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding, especially in areas which already received rain earlier Monday.

AccuWeather called for "widely separated" thunderstorms on Wednesday evening, and gave a 50 percent chance of storms.
