Severe Storms, Flooding Possible For Chicago Area As Strong Fall Storm System Hits
The storm system will begin to impact the Chicago area on Wednesday afternoon.
ILLINOIS — A "strong autumn storm system" will impact the Chicago area starting late Wednesday and into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
After "one more nice day" on Tuesday, the weather service said there will be chances for showers, storms and breezy winds starting Wednesday.
Rain and storms will begin to develop across north of a warm front late Wednesday afternoon, continuing into the night and into Thursday, according to the weather service. Heavy rain is possible during this time, and there could be some localized flooding into Thursday morning.

Confidence is not high on where exactly the heavy rain will fall, the weather service said.

The center of the storm system will move into the Chicago area late Friday or Friday night, and a second round of rain and storms is possible, the weather service said. Some of the storm could produce heavy rain, and there is a "non-zero" threat for severe weather.

While the warm front moves through the area, temperatures will actually creep back into the 70s, before falling again as the storm system moves out of the area on Saturday.
The high for Wednesday is 63, 74 on Thursday, 70 on Friday and 57 on Saturday.
