ACROSS ILLINOIS — As the holidays approach, colorful lights twinkle in the windows of homes, fires crackle warmly and loved ones gather to share food and laughter with one another. This year, Illinois Patch would like to spotlight the holiday photos and memories that you hold dear. Read on to find out how to share your tales of holiday cheer with us.

1. Email lisa.farver@patch.com by Dec. 22 at 5 p.m., with the subject line Holiday Memories

2. Include a holiday photo you took that warms your heart, along with permission for us to share the photo in a story.

3. Share a story (150 words or less) about a beloved holiday memory.

We will gather the stories and photos and publish them in an article that will debut just before Christmas.
