'Snow-Maker' Saturday Could Bring Several More Inches Of Snow To IL
SNOW TOTALS: Wednesday and Thursday morning brought 3 to 4 inches of snow to the Chicago area, including one suburb that got 4.5 inches.

ILLINOIS — With many Chicago suburbs getting between 3 and 4 inches of snow on Wednesday, more snow is on the way every day through the weekend.
This weekend, more than 3 inches of snow could hit Chicago and the northern suburbs.
After several inches already fell on Wednesday, more snow showers on Thursday will bring a coating to an inch of snow to the area, with possible slippery travel conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

More snow is expected on Friday as well, and gusts up to 40 mph could result in slippery travel. Friday will have a high of 36 degrees, according to the weather service.
A "morning burst of snow" could bring 1 inch of accumulation on Friday, the weather service said.

A "snow-maker" on Saturday could bring several inches of accumulating snow, and also impact travel, according to the weather service Twitter page.
The weather service said the track of the snow is uncertain, and snowfall amounts could vary widely by town. A "sharp cutoff" in snow is likely somewhere near Interstate 80.

AccuWeather is predicting 2 to 4 inches of snow with the storm on Saturday (a 58 percent chance). The private forecaster also gave a 22 percent chance of 4 to 8 inches of snow.
After the snow leaves the area on Saturday, temperatures in the single digits with sub-zero wind chills are expected at the start of the work week, according to the weather service.
