Snow Possible Saturday, Colder Temps Have Arrived In Chicago Area

More snow could be on the way early next week.

ILLINOIS — Could we see some flakes this weekend? It's possible, according to the National Weather Service Chicago.

There is a chance of flurries late Friday, as well as a chance of snow showers on Saturday afternoon, the weather service said. Flurries are again possible on Saturday night.

After an unseasonably warm week, the colder temperatures have arrived in the Chicago area. Some areas saw close to a 40 degree temperature drop between Thursday and Friday, according to the weather service.

Lows could drop to the mid-20s on Friday night when flurries are possible. Saturday will have a high of 37 degrees, and Sunday a high of 39, according to the weather service. Lows could get down to 20 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday.

AccuWeather gave a 25 percent chance of precipitation during the day on Saturday, and said "a passing flurry" was possible on Saturday night.

Sunday should be dry and sunny, but chances of snow could return on Monday night and Tuesday.

According to AccuWeather, there is an 87 percent chance of precipitation on Tuesday. The private forecaster gave a prediction of .08 inches of rain for Tuesday and a half-inch of snow.
