Storms, High Winds To Hit Chicago Area Friday: See Latest Forecast

Gloomy weather will end the week, and continue through Saturday.

ILLINOIS — Rain and storms will continue in the Chicago area through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will also be seasonably cool during this stretch, with highs in the 50s, and lows in the 30s and 40s.

Skies may clear Thursday night, before a wet and breezy Friday is expected, the weather service said. Storms on Friday afternoon and evening could bring gusty winds, on-and-off downpours and occasional lightning strikes. There could also be localized flooding and rises in river levels.

The gloomy weather will continue through Saturday, which has a high of 59 degrees with wind and rain expected. Sunday should be the start of a dry period, with a high of 55 expected. Some showers are possible near Lake Michigan, the weather service said.

Dry weather should continue into the start of the work week, with no rain expected on Monday or Tuesday. Monday will have a high of 54, and Tuesday a high of 56, according to the weather service.
