Spotty Showers Throughout Weekend, Fall Temps Continue For Illinois

Rain is more likely on Sunday, which will be breezy with gusts up to 30 mph, according to the weather service.

ILLINOIS — Fall has officially arrived, and so have fall-like temperatures. The weekend will feature temperatures in the 70s with isolated rain showers on both Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The high for Friday was only 66 degrees, and morning low temps were in the 40s for most of the Chicago area, the weather service said. Romeoville got down to 47 degrees, Joliet saw 45 degrees, Midway was a bit warmer at 52 degrees, and Waukegan had a low of 43 degrees.

Saturday will have a high of 77, and winds could gust as high as 20 mph during the day, according to the weather service forecast.

Sunday has a high of 72, and again will be breezy with gusts up to 30 mph, the weather service said.

Spotty showers are possible Saturday, and again Sunday. Sunday night should be clear, and dry weather is expected on Monday.

AccuWeather also called for a chance of showers on Saturday and Sunday, giving a 40 percent chance of precipitation on Saturday and an 85 percent chance on Sunday.
