Temps In The 70s Expected Through Weekend Before Cooldown For Chicago Area
A cold front will move through the area on Sunday, which will bring "a cooler start to next week," the weather service said.
Mild temperatures are expected through Sunday as highs in the 70s are expected Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Temperatures will be warm, especially away from Lake Michigan. On both Friday and Sunday, the weather service said temperatures will fall in the afternoon close to the lake (temps may fall area-wide on Sunday afternoon).
Friday and Saturday will be dry and sunny, but rain is possible Sunday, according to the current forecast.

A cold front will move through the area on Sunday, which will bring "a cooler start to next week," the weather service said. Temperatures look to be back in the 50s for the start of the work week.
While it will be warm this weekend, the temperatures won't challenge any records. According to weather service data, the record high for March 20 is 85 degrees, March 21 is 87 degrees, and March 22 is 83 degrees. All three records were set in 2012.

FRIDAY: Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming north northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. South southwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
SUNDAY: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 10 to 20 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.
