Kurt Nelson, of Joliet, tells us he was taking out the garbage when he found this Orb-weaver spider anchored to his car and roof. He said the web was "easily 5-foot tall, and 3-foot wide."
Lori Zera, of Montgomery, submitted this photograph of one of the hummingbirds that frequents her feeder. "I try to get different angles of the hummingbirds," she said.

Jeremy Almaguer sent in this photograph he took of truck No. 804 of the North Palos Fire Department. "Seeing their extended ladder up so high early in the morning was awesome enough to see, let alone have time to share on my bike ride to work," he tells us.
