ILLINOIS — The start of the work week will be rainy with a chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered showers are possible Monday morning, as well as isolated thunderstorms.

Brief downpours on Monday could reduce visibility, so use caution while driving in heavy rain.

Although the start of the week will be rainy, temperatures are still forecast in the 70s, with a high of 79 on Monday, 77 on Tuesday and 73 on Wednesday.

A weather system will also move down into Illinois from Minnesota on Tuesday, bringing rain and chances of storms, according to the weather service. The weather system will slowly move east out of the area on Wednesday, but there will still be a chance of scattered storms and showers.

By Thursday, weather looks to turn mostly sunny and dry, with a high of 73 on Thursday and a high of 77 on Friday. The weather service said there will also be a warming trend into the weekend.
