Severe Storms Poised To Hit Chicago Area Over Weekend
Severe storms are possible on Sunday, but the storm threat area may change between now and then.
ILLINOIS — A week after another six tornadoes hit the Chicago area, a stormy weekend is expected, as temps stay in the upper 80s, according to the National Weather Service.
First, an isolated storm or two are possible on Friday afternoon, as a cold front crosses south over the area. The weather service said storms would be possible, mainly west and south of the Chicago area.
Winds behind the cold front will make for dangerous swimming conditions on Friday night into Saturday morning.

Saturday has a high of 86, and storm chances begin to increase on Saturday evening, the weather service said. Severe storms are possible Sunday, and the high for the day is 87 degrees.
The weather service said that the storm threat area may change between now and Sunday, and advised staying up-to-date on the forecast. The severe level threat is currently forecast at a 2 out of 5 for Sunday.
