Stunning Images Showcase State: Best Of IL In Photos 2023
Patch looks back at some of the best reader photo submissions from the past year.

ILLINOIS — With 2023 nearing its end, we're looking back at the year that was, specifically in photographs submitted to us by readers.
Each week, we run our Illinois In Photos feature and receive hundreds of submissions. While in the past we generally ran five carefully selected photos from readers, we got so many submissions this year that we expanded it to 10. Even then, many weeks some wonderful photos never made it into the feature as narrowing it down can be quite difficult.
Whether we featured one of your photos or it unfortunately didn't get in, we thank everyone for sending them to us. Like this year, in 2024 we will continue to run the feature. To have your photo potentially featured on Patch, send it to Eric DeGrechie at eric.degrechie@patch.com. We just ask that you make sure the photo you send is one you have taken personally, and allow Patch to use on all platforms. Include your name for credit and a brief description of the photo, including where it was taken. Also, please remove any watermarks. Thank you!
