Summer-Like Humidity, Chance Of Storms To Return Later This Week To Chicago Area
Tuesday and Wednesday could see a few severe storms.
Cooler temperatures will start the work week, before summer-like humidity returns on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday has a high of 79 degrees, and there is also a limited thunderstorm chance on Monday night. The weather service said scattered storms are possible late Monday northwest of Interstate 55.
A more humid and stormier weather pattern will return after Monday, according to the current forecast. Tuesday's high is 93 degrees, followed by 86 on Wednesday.

The weather service said there will be periods of showers and storms into Wednesday, and a few storms on Tuesday and Wednesday could be strong to severe.
Locally heavy rainfall will be possible with mid-week storms.

MONDAY NIGHT: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
TUESDAY: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
