Rain, Colder Weather To Hit After Sunny Start To Weekend In Illinois

There is an increasing chance of rain and possible storms starting Saturday afternoon.

ILLINOIS — Pleasant weather will continue Friday and into Saturday, before rain is possible Saturday afternoon and through Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday will begin sunny and with a high of 86 degrees, according to the weather service. There will be an increasing chance of showers and possible storms starting late Saturday afternoon, the weather service said.

Sunday will have a high of 73 degrees and storms are expected throughout the day.

There is a chance for heavy rainfall on Sunday along the Illinois-Wisconsin border, the weather service said.

AccuWeather gave only a small chance of storms Saturday night at 15 percent, but gave a 55 percent chance of precipitation, with .02 inches of rain expected.

Sunday has an even higher chance of rain and storms, according to AccuWeather. The forecaster gave a 92 percent chance of rain and an 18 percent chance of storms.

Rain will continue Monday to begin the work week, and a high of only 65 degrees is expected Monday. Tuesday should be sunny with a high of 74, according to the weather service.
