Tornado Watch Issued For Chicago Area
Storms with hail and damaging winds are possible, mainly from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
ILLINOIS — A line of severe storms is possible Thursday afternoon and evening, and a tornado watch has been issued for the Chicago area as the severe weather approaches.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 8 p.m. for Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will counties in the Chicago area.
The weather service said the main window for storms will be from 3 to 8 p.m.

"Conditions will be favorable for these storms to become severe with large hail, damaging winds and possibly a couple of tornadoes," the weather service said.
AccuWeather gave a high of 80 degrees for the Joliet area on Thursday and said storms could "bring hail and damaging winds." The private forecaster gave a 58 percent probability for thunderstorms.

Temps will then cool for Friday, which has a high of 66, and through the weekend, which will have highs in the 40s, according to the weather service.
