Tornadoes, Severe Weather Could Overtake Sunny Skies In IL: NWS
Following the warmest day of the year Sunday, inclement weather is predicted for Chicagoland and beyond starting Tuesday.

ILLINOIS — While the last few days seemed more like May flowers than April showers, severe weather, including the potential for tornadoes, is in the forecast this week. According to the National Weather Service, strong to severe thunderstorms will move in from the west late Tuesday afternoon into evening. Damaging hail, winds and tornadoes are all possible.
Meteorologists did say the effect of the storms, as well as the timing, was uncertain as of Monday morning. As of now, scattered showers and non-severe thunderstorms are predicted Tuesday morning. Southwest winds will strengthen throughout the day, with gusts reaching 30 to 40 mph in the afternoon.
Following Tuesday's severe storms, another round of bad weather could hit the area Wednesday morning into the afternoon. Again, expect windy conditions, with gusts potentially getting to over 40 mph.
