'Unseasonably Mild,' Temps Near 70 Degrees For Start Of Week In IL

ILLINOIS — Temperatures near 70 degrees will kick off the work week, and it will continue to be mild through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday will have a high of 70, and winds could gust up to near 40 mph. The weather service said a cold front will most through on Monday afternoon, and bring slightly cooler temps for Tuesday.

Tuesday will have a high of 65, and it will be warmest south of the Illinois and Kankakee rivers, according to the weather service. Wednesday will also be mild with a high of 73 degrees.

"The main chance of rain for the week will be on Wednesday when scattered showers are expected," the weather service said.
Temperatures will be back to near normal after mid-week, with a high of 55 on Thursday and a high of 54 on Friday. The end of the week looks to be mostly sunny and dry.
