Storms, Highs Near 80 Degrees Possible For Chicago Area

There's a chance of rain or storms nearly every day this week.

ILLINOIS — A more active weather week is in store for the Chicago area this week, as temperatures warm up and chances of showers and storms are possible.

The work week starts Monday with limited rain chances, according to the weather service. Monday has a high of 68 degrees, and will be breezy with gusts up to 25 mph.

The weather service said a few isolated storms are possible in far northern Illinois Monday afternoon, but severe weather is not expected.

The chance of rain and possibly storms continue through the week, although breaks in the rain are possible, the weather service said. The chance for rain and "unsettled weather" will continue into the weekend.

"The work week looks fairly wet, though intermittent breaks can be expected," the weather service said.

Tuesday will be the warmest day of the week, with a high of 78 degrees. Wednesday will have a high of 72, Thursday a high of 73 and Friday a high of 73, according to the weather service.

Rain is possible every day this week; with a chance of showers likely overnight Tuesday into Wednesday near Interstate 55 and northwest; and a slight chance for scattered storms on Wednesday.
