The high for Friday is 38 degrees. If the precipitation changes to all freezing drizzle, then the threat of icing would be low, the weather service said.

Lake effect snow is also possible Friday night, but mostly for northwest Indiana.
"Otherwise, dry conditions can be expected for the weekend with temperatures warming into next week," the weather service said on its Facebook.

Saturday has a high of 28, and Sunday has a high of 39. The real warm-up may come on Monday, which has a high of 50 degrees. According to the current forecast, the warmth could stick around on Tuesday too, which has a high of 48.

FRIDAY: A chance of snow showers, freezing rain, and sleet before 2 p.m., then a chance of flurries between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 10. Wind chill values as low as -1. Blustery, with a north wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
SATURDAY: Increasing clouds, with a high near 24. Wind chill values as low as -2. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Cloudy, with a low around 19. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. South southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
