60-Degree Weather Could Be On The Way After IL Weekend Warmup
More spring-like temps are expected this weekend, with highs in the 50s on Sunday for the Chicago area.
ILLINOIS — After ice and rain this week, a weekend with warmer temperatures and mostly sunny weather is in store for the Chicago area.
Before the milder temps this weekend, there is a chance of light snow and flurries on Friday night, according to the National Weather Service. The high for Friday night is 28 degrees.
The high for Saturday is 44 degrees, and the weather service said on its Twitter that "a good mix of clouds and sun will accompany above-normal temperatures for Saturday."

Sunday will warm even further, creeping into the 50s, with a high of 54 degrees. Sunday should be sunny, but rain is expected overnight Sunday into Monday, according to the weather service.
Rain is also possible Monday, when temperatures could hit 60 degrees. There is also a chance of thunderstorms, south of Interstate 80, according to the weather service.

AccuWeather said Monday in the Joliet area could have "periods of rain, some heavy, and a thunderstorm." The private forecaster said storms could bring flash flooding and damaging winds. AccuWeather predicted a high of 56 on Monday.
