Wind Chills Below Zero, Unseasonable Cold On Saturday For Illinois

ILLINOIS — While it may seem chilly out there, temperatures are actually pretty normal, compared to past St. Patrick's Days.
The normal high for the holiday is 47 degrees, while the normal low is 32, according to the National Weather Service. Friday's temps are hovering just above 30 degrees, so we're on the low end of the average.
The warmest St. Patrick's Day on record happened in 2012, when Chicago hit 82 degrees. And the coldest happened over 100 years ago, in 1900, when it was 0 degrees, according to the weather service.

The chillier temps on Friday will turn "downright frigid for this time of year" on Friday night through Saturday, the weather service said.

Early morning wind chills on Saturday could reach 7 below zero, the weather service said. Saturday will also be blustery, with gusts up to 30 mph.

AccuWeather said Saturday will have "a brief shot of much colder air" and Saturday night will approach the record low of 16 degrees, which was set in 1993.
Temps will start to warm again on Sunday, which has a high of 41, according to the weather service.
As the work week begins Monday, temps will once again rebound to 50 degrees, and 50s are expected throughout next week, according to the weather service forecast.
