ILLINOIS — Winds up to 50 mph are possible late Friday into Saturday as a strong weather system arrives in the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.
Along with the strong winds, the near-record warmth will also continue on Friday, which has an expected high of 75 degrees, the weather service said.
Strong winds will move into the area late Friday night and continue through Saturday afternoon. Gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible across the area, the weather service said.

Higher gusts are also possible with rain and a cold front which will move in on Saturday morning.
AccuWeather called for "strong winds developing" on Friday night and said Saturday would again be very windy, and also predicted gusts up to 50 mph.

The weather service said travel could be hazardous for high-profile vehicles, loose objects will easily be blown around, and there could be some tree damage and power outages.
