Addison Township, in partnership with DuPage County, will host a Community Document Shred Event on Saturday, August 8, from 9 a.m. to noon (or until the truck is full) at the Addison Township offices (401 N. Addison Rd).
Residents are invited to safely dispose of personal documents for free. Each household may bring up to two bags or one banker’s box of paper materials for shredding.

Kiddie Academy of Itasca will host Hero Play Day on Friday, July 31 at 5 p.m. for infants to 12-year-olds. Families are invited to attend this free community event designed to help children recognize and celebrate their personal heroes.

The new hands-on event will be an opportunity for children to dress up as their favorite superhero and participate in “training” stations set up around the Academy, including obstacle courses, strength tests and kindness missions.

Help break the stigma associated with mental illness at the 2026 NAMIWalks (Runs) 5K and 1 Mile Color Run. Before, between, or after the runs, visit the Kids Zone and Health Fair.
