1 in Custody After LITH SWAT Incident
The man is accused of burglarizing a home in Lake in the Hills earlier this week. He is in custody following the SWAT call Thursday.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A 20-year-old Lake in the Hills man is in custody after a SWAT team was called to his home in the 400 block of Cedar Street on Thursday, authorities said. The Lake in the Hills Police Department responded to the home to arrest Jesus Valdez who is accused of burglarizing a home in the 300 block of Hiawatha Drive a day earlier, according to a news release from the Lake in the Hills Police Department.
When authorities arrived, Valdez retreated back into his home. Officers secured the residence and requested assistance from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office multi-jurisdictional SWAT team. At about 5 p.m., Valdez came out of his home and was taken into custody, police said.
He is charged with residential burglary, possession of stolen property, resisting a peace officer and criminal damage to property. He is accused of stealing a television, $900 in cash and miscellaneous jewelry from a home in the 300 block of Hiawatha Drive, according to authorities.

Valdez is in custody at the McHenry County Jail.
