1 Killed, 1 Critically Injured In Collision Near Hampshire
The crash happened at Route 72 and Walker Road in Hampshire Township Sunday evening.
KANE COUNTY, IL — A 50-year-old Elgin man was killed and a woman was seriously injured in a crash Sunday evening near Hampshire.
The collision happened at about 5:40 p.m. at Route 72 and Walker Road in Hampshire Township when a 20015 Nissan Pathfinder headed north on Walker Road collided with a 2008 Chevrolet sedan, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
The sedan had been headed east on Route 72 at the time of the crash and rolled over several times following the collision, according to the news release. The sedan then came to rest on the northeast side of the intersection.

A passenger in the sedan, Wilbert Parker, 50, of Elgin was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan was extricated from the car and then airlifted to St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford in critical condition, authorities said.
The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was not injured but was taken to local hospital for an evaluation.

Kane County Sheriff’s detectives are continuing to investigate the crash, and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
