$100K Bail Set In Kane County Child Porn Case

A 44-year-old Carpentersville man faces 20 felony counts in connection with accusations he possessed and disseminated child porn.

KANE COUNTY, IL — Bail has been set at $100,000 for a 44-year-old Carpentersville man accused of possessing and disseminating child pornography.

Christopher M. Scholl, of the 3100 block of Wakefield Drive, was charged this past week with 10 counts of possession of child pornography/moving depictions and 10 counts of disseminating child pornography/moving depictions in Kane County Circuit Court.

Authorities say Scholl possessed and disseminated child pornography videos prior to Feb. 3. Charges against School were filed following an investigation by the Kane County State's Attorney's Office, Kane County Sheriff's Office, the Illinois Attorney General's Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children's Task Force.

Bail has been set at $100,000 for Scholl. If Scholl is released on bond he he has been ordered to have no contact with anyone younger than 17 years old and to have no access to file-sharing websites, social media websites or websites characterized as pornographic.

Scholl’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 1 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
