11th Annual Take A Shot At Hunger Preparing to Tee Off

Golfers, friends and supporters of the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Food Pantry are once again preparing for the 11th Annual Take a Shot At Hunger. This event, which takes place on the Friday before the Labor Day Weekend (September 2 this year) draws over 80 golfers each year, and has raised over $75,000 in support of the ALITH Food Pantry.

The outing has a number of games, door prizes and raffles. Event co-organizer Gerry Guilbeault says "we have designed the outing to be friendly for less skilled golfers as well as provided some level of competition for the more advanced golfers. And the staff of RedTail insures that the course is always in great shape and provides a challenge to all."

Registration includes use of the driving range, a sleeve of balls, greens fees and cart, a cooler and a post round meal.  And with the cooperation of the course, registered golfers play for cart fees only Monday through Thursday the week of the event.  Registration fees are $125.00 per golfer before August 22nd, $150 after.  To register go to www.takeashotathunger.com.
