2 Arrested After Chase In Stolen Vehicle: Police
Police began the pursuit in McHenry County. The chase continued into Kane County, ending in East Dundee.

EAST DUNDEE, IL — A man and woman are in custody after they lead police on a chase in a stolen vehicle early Thursday in Kane and McHenry counties, authorities said. Richard Long, 37, of South Beloit, and Megan Pinn, 24, who is homeless, were eventually taken into custody after ditching the stolen car and apparently fleeing on foot to a 24-hour laundromat at Route 25 and Route 72 in East Dundee.
Both were wanted on several arrest warrants at the time they were taken into custody Thursday morning and now face charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and obstructing identification. Long is also charged with aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
At about 2 a.m., deputies in Kane County learned McHenry County authorities were pursuing a Hyundai Santa Fe that was reported stolen six days ago in Rockford, according to a news release. The pursuit was stopped on Randall Road north of the Kane County line as the vehicle continued south on Randall near Huntley Road.

Deputies tried to pull the vehicle over and it fled south on Randall, eventually turned east onto Interstate 90. The vehicle exited north on Route 25 and eventually turned onto Albert Drive before driving through a fence and onto a large property owned by Beverly Material.
The property is a large gravel pit and wooded area with an address of 32W007 Il Route 72 in East Dundee. Deputies lost sight of the vehicle after it went onto the property, according to a news release.

Several agencies, including East Dundee, Carpentersville, Hoffman Estates, Illinois State Police, and the Elgin Police Department Drone team, searched the property. At around 6 a.m., the vehicle was found unoccupied on the northwest portion of the property.
A short time after the vehicle was located Pinn and Long were taken into custody at the laundromat. They were taken to the Kane County Adult Corrections Center.
