2 Firefighters Injured In Algonquin Fire
The blaze broke out at a commercial building in Algonquin Friday evening.
ALGONQUIN, IL — Two firefighters were injured while battling a blaze that broke out Friday evening at a commercial building in Algonquin.
The Algonquin Fire Protection District was called to the fire at the structure at 901 Cary Road in Algonquin at about 6:10 p.m., according to a news release from the fire protection district. Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze by 6:42 p.m.
Two firefighters were treated at the scene and released, and no civilian injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is being investigated by the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, Algonquin Police Department and the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office. A damage estimate is not yet available.
