2 Seriously Injured — 1 Airlifted — In I-90 Collision With Semi

HUNTLEY, IL — Two people were seriously injured in a crash involving a semi Thursday morning on Interstate 90 in Huntley, authorities said.

The collision happened when a passenger sedan and a semi tractor trailer collided at about 4:30 a.m. just west of Route 47 near the I-90 entrance ramp, according to Huntley Fire Protection District.

Emergency crews extricated both people from the sedan and one person was taken by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The other person is receiving treatment at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, according to the news release.

The westbound entrance ramp to Interstate 90 from Route 47 was closed for several hours while emergency crews operated on scene and the crash was investigated.

The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
