39 Tickets, 1 Arrest For Excessive Speeding During LITH July 4 Detail
The Lake in the Hills Police Department took part in the enforcement campaign during the Fourth of July holiday.
LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — The Lake in the Hills Police Department issued several tickets to motorists busted for speeding, not wearing their seatbelts and using a cell phone while driving during a recent Fourth of July enforcement campaign.
During the enforcement campaign, police arrested one driver for excessive speeding after they were clocked traveling 81 mph in a 45 mph zone. Here is a look at other tickets doled out during the traffic campaign:
- Seat belt: 8
- Failure to signal: 3
- No insurance: 3
- Improper display of registration: 1
- Expired registration: 2
- Electronic communication device: 4
- Disregard traffic control device: 1
- Speeding: 17
The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
