4 Kids Found In Feces-Filled House With No Food: Police

Their parents were drunk, there was rotting garbage inside, and two guns were within their reach, police said.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A Wonder Lake man and woman face child endangerment charges after authorities found their four children amid rotting garbage, animal feces and in a home with no food last month, police said. Jason Lamb, 37, also faces an aggravated domestic battery charge for accusations he choked one of his four children — who are ages 4, 6, 8 and 10 years old — according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the home in the 7800 block of East Maplewood Drive in Wonder Lake at about 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 to check on the children. Authorities say they found piles of rotting garbage outside the home as well as two firearms in an area where the kids could easily get their hands on the weapons.

In addition, Lamb and Jennifer Lamb, 36, appeared to be drunk, according to the sheriff's office.

The Department of Children and Family Services responded and took the children from the home and placed them with a family member, police said. And Jason Lamb was arrested and is being held at the McHenry County Jail on a $50,000 bail. He is charged with aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery eight counts of child endangerment and eight counts of reckless conduct.

A $50,000 arrest warrant has been issued for Jennifer Lamb's arrest. She faces eight counts of child endangerment and four counts of reckless conduct.

An investigation is still on going by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Children and Family Services.
