A Good Day for a Bike Ride: What's Your Favorite Trail?

The Fox River Trail/Prairie trail made a Daily Herald list earlier this week as a family friendly bike trail. Tell us in the comments' section: Where is your favorite place to bike?

With sunny skies and temperatures expected to reach into the 80s today, there isn't a much better time to dust off those bikes and check out an area trail.

This past week, the Daily Herald published a list of the best places for families to bike in the suburbs.

Among the trails mentioned was the Fox River Trail/Prairie Trail, which stretches 40 miles from as far south as Montgomery and as far north as Richmond in McHenry County. The trail allows you to stop in any of the downtown areas along the trail and the Daily Herald suggests the Dairy Queen in East Dundee as a good spot to start and come back to.

Another that made the Daily Herald's list was the Algonquin Road trail at the Paul Douglas Forest Preserve in Hoffman Estates. There is a 7.5-mile loop through the forest preserve with only one major street crossing at Roselle and Algonquin roads, according to the Daily Herald.
