Algonquin Blotter: Aggravated Battery, Retail Theft

ALGONQUIN, IL — The Algonquin Police Department made the following arrests in recent days:

• Marcos Cardenas-Rivas, 27, of Delevan, Wisconsin, was pulled over at Legion Drive and Huntington Drive at 4:44 p.m. on Nov. 26 and charged with speeding and driving while license suspended. He was released with a notice to appear in McHenry County.
• Niccolas K. Gould, 23, of the 500 block of West Parkview Terrace in Algonquin, was arrested in the 2000 block of East Algonquin Road 12:11 a.m. on Nov. 28 on a warrant out of McHenry County. He was released with a notice to appear.
• Vanessa Vallejo, 29, of the 0 to 100 block of Arbordale Court in Algonquin, was arrested at about 11 a.m. on Nov. 29 and charged with aggravated battery of a peace office and resisting arrest. Vallejo was taken into custody at her home.
• Francisco A. Mendez-Diaz, 27, of the 2000 block of Waverly Lane in Algonquin, was arrested at County Line Road and Stonegate Road at 11:26 p.m. on Nov. 29 and charged with driving while under the influence, driving while license suspended, no insurance and possession of marijuana. He was transported to the McHenry County Jail.
• Cameron J. Spreitzer, 19, of the 7000 block of Hillcrest Drive in Crystal Lake, was arrested at 8:29 p.m. on Nov. 15 at Route 31 and Main Street and charged with speeding. He was released with a notice to appear in McHenry County.
• Elizabeth A. Besterfeldt, 39, of the 200 block of Thomas Street in Cary, was arrested at 1410 S. Randall Road at 5:44 p.m. on Nov. 16 and charged with retail theft. She was then transferred to the McHenry County Jail.
• Pamela A. Rachal, 43, of the 900 block of Pinehurst Lane in Schaumburg, was arrested in the 400 block of South Randall Road at 6:39 p.m. on Nov. 19 and charged with obstructing justice. Rachal was also wanted on warrants out of McHenry, DuPage and Kane counties. She was taken to the McHenry County Jail.
• Kamil Chworos, 32, of the 1800 bloc of West Amelia Lane in Addison, was arrested in the 1600 block of Yosemite Parkway at about 8:4o a.m. on Nov. 21 and charged with violation of bail bond. He was was released with a court date in McHenry County.
• Anthony P. Hagestedt, 31, of the 2800 block of Cobblestone Drive in Carpentersville, was arrested in the 800 block of South Illinois Route 31 in Crystal Lake and charged with two counts of domestic battery, interfering with a 911 call and criminal damage to property. He was transported to the McHenry County Jail.
• Deshawn I. Cavin, 24, of the 900 block of Elisabeth Drive in Streamwood, was arrested at Randall Road and Commons Drive at about 7 p.m. on Nov. 23 and charged with speeding. He was released with a notice to appear in McHenry County.
