Algonquin Founders' Days Will Return to Towne Park
After three years at Algonquin Lakes Park, Founders' Days will again be held at Towne Park this summer.
ALGONQUIN, IL - The Algonquin Founders’ Day festival will return to its downtown location this summer after a three-year hiatus.
The three-day festival, which will run from July 28 to July 31, will once again be held at Towne Park, 100 Jefferson Street.
For years, the festival had been located at the downtown location but was moved to Algonquin Lakes Park in 2013 to make way for construction of the Western Bypass project, which included renovations to Towne Park, according to the Daily Herald. During that same time frame at the neighborhood park, festival attendance dropped by 20 to 30 percent.
